T.S Eliot- WateLand

Respected Sir,

1. Friedrich Nietzsche believing in progressive and forward looking thing and on the other hand T.S.Eliot in “The WasteLand” seems to be regressive and backward looking. He is come with philosophical concept. “The Ubermensch” it the German words which means superman. The ubermensch as a goal for humanity to set for it self.

T.s.Eliot talked about three religious christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism. Here, in this poem present the past, present, and what is modern thing. He was also mentioned symbol like “Red Rock” : Christian church faith in God, “Saint Marry Woolnoth” : is a curch. He also use of varous language like: English, German, French, Italian and sanskrit. The third part “ The Fire Sermon” pointed out about the Budhism, and last part “Upnishad” point out three ways to salvation. Eliot believes in to the God and myths.

2. According to me, “ The Wasteland”- T.S.Eliot the centeral theme of the poem is sexual perversion and spiritual degradation . It is also mentioned that “Life in death, death in life”. Eliot concern that one must follows tradition for “Salvation” Sigmund Freud and eliot both are opposite from each other. Freud concern for salvation one should be collective and individual balanced. He believe that “Life in death and death in life”, the cycle of life.

3.The title of the last part “What the Thunder Said” from Upnishad Prajapati spoke in thunder said “Aakashwani”. Eliot talked about three DA:
Datta: which means be giver
Dayadhvam: Which means compassion
Damyata: Which means Self-Control.

Shantih! Shantih!Shantih! He take the “Upnishad”. “Shantih” in the large context of the Hindu Tradition and spacific context of its use in “WasteLand”. It goes with Indian Philosophy. Here, “Shantih!” mantra means poet wants peace from the nation.

Here in this poem is also useful for ecocritical study because in the poem he wants to save river. The river is symbolizes the flow continuity of life. So, the river is also symbol of salvation of humanity. So, we can say that Eliot's use of Indian thoughts were for good idea in to the human mind.

Thank You....

“Teaching English as a Second Language in India: Focus on Objectives”

In this essay written by Shivendra Verma. He talking about objective of language teaching. In this essay focus on the objective of teaching English as a second language in India. English as a global language, Catharsis and self-expression is most important of languages.

English as a global language but it is a single language but all the country speak the English language. English is a “Link Language” or “Lingua Franca”. It encourage wider mobility national integration and a sense of tolerance.

In this essay three parts:

1. Bilingualism:ability to communicate in two or more language.

2. Trilingualism:Ability to communicate in three or more languages.

3. Multilingualism: ability to communicate in many languages.

The emphasis should shift from encourage learners to memorize paradigms and grammatical rules to helping them interact with people using different registers of language in a variety of situations.

In this essay four major skills:

Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening.

Ø  Listening and Reading both are receptive skills.

Ø  Speaking and Writing both are productive skills.

In this essay also talked about four part of languages:

1.      First Language (L1):Mother Tongue, Mother tongue is most potent and comprehensive medium for the expression of the student’s entire personality. Mother tongue as the proper medium of instruction for all classes up to the higher secondary level.

2.      Second Language (L2):Second language (English). English as a second language functions primarily as an interstate or international link language.

3.      Foreign Language (L3): Foreign language is to have direct access to the speakers of these language and their cultures.

4.      Classical Language: Classical language like Sanskrit provide access to ancient culture, learning and philosophy of life and is assumed to contribute to the intellectual enrichment of its learners.

This language is a “Window on the World”.This language is a science and technology, commerce, political science, English is important for industrial and economy development. English as the associate official language.
All the essay’s concept is a how to learners learn teaching English as a language. Children should how to ask question. Task, Freedom, give the stage and encourage them, and give the motivation. Expression is very important for English language. Communication is a bidirectional process.

Satan $ Saraswat:

"Satan $ Saraswati: The double face of the English in India" - E. Annamai.

This essay E. Annamai talked about that after independence, India replaced many British symbols. He also talked about national language is can Hindi or Hindustani be the national language.

English is a official language. Hindi or Hindustani as the national language of the new nation, but ultimately, recognised the multinational character of the country. The Indian constitution did not speak of the national language of the Union. The parliament take the decision that it would be Hindi in Devnagri script, become the sole official language of the Union after 15 years from 1950.

English is a used for all proceeding in the supreme court, the highest court of the union and high court untill the parliament, state legislature is a English is a official language. English is now become more and more indianised  grammatically and functionally it use my large numbers of people who know the English language is very well.

The main serious issue about English is that the present of English rocks opportunities for the Indian language. English is a very important language to communication at international level and English language with English culture and with the raise of the main issues of the India and India's following the cultural value.

Here, is my view on Deconstruction.

Here, is my view on Deconstruction.

 Respected Sir,

My view on Deconstruction.
According to Derrida the term Deconstruction is hard is a define clearly. Deconstruction is a way of reading and text and there by exposing the instability of meaning which the text tries to cover up. As a post structuralism critic, here I want to give an example of literary text John Milton’s “Paradise Lost”. In which he Deconstruction the original epic from Genesis’s Bible. In Genesis Bible- female hasn’t any space while in “Paradise Lost” by John Milton, female character-Eve has more space and also voice, more than the argumentative nature. So, it is plus point of it. Milton tries to Deconstruction the idea of Bible. Because giving argumentative nature and voice is one step further than not having voice.

I also give other example of Amish tries to deconstruct the great Epic of India- “Ramayana”. He talks about real Rama with new perspective with replacing the meta-narrative, he present Rama with new perspective in “Scion of Ikshvaku”.

structuralism

Respected Sir,
Gerard Genette, who was French literary theorist. He was also highly concern with narrative technique. In his essay his he discuss five aspect of narratology, that are like
1.       Order
2.       Frequency
3.       Duration
4.       Voice
5.       Mood
Order: This order concept totally the circumstances and the situation take place in the narration.
Frequency: Frequency’s concept his according to the different order and different film text and etc.
Duration: The separation between an event and narration means that there is discourse time and narrative time. For example: T.V. serials like: “Mahabharata” this serials present duration time talk about “Me samay hu me kale hu…”
MOOD: Distance of the narrator changes with narrated speech and reported speech. For example: T.V. serials “CID” there  is long duration of that but yet it strictly follow the pattern of beginning, middle, end.
Here I would like to movies like: “PK”, “OMG” structure is the concept of “God”. But the way of presenting idea and thoughts regarding different.
I would like also other literary example: “Othello” famous tragedy by Shakespeare. In play, we find structure like first rising then climax, resolution.  Here Shakespeare puts revenge, marriage of Othello and Desdemona. In this play one most famous scene “Handkerchief” . “Othello” seen the Handkerchief and doubt on her. So we have shown idea of Aristotle.

I
