A Fine Day - Drayton

'A Fine day' is sweet nature poem by Drayton. He describes the real beauty of the day in the poem as the title itself suggest. Actually, it was a fine day. The poet praises the day from the beginning of the day, because he describes the beauty of the morning in the poem.

According to him, from the down of the day, it is very clear. The atmosphere is fine, it means that the day is without rain and also there are not any clouds in the sky.

In the first stanza poet uses simile for the cloud as he compare these thin clouds with line scarfs. He also uses metaphor in the same stanza. He shows us that those thin clouds hide the sun as a veil of the hat hides a face. By giving this type of description the poet has proved that he can b truly called the nature poet. Because it is seen thoroughly in the poem as the poet uses the phrase 'lover's most glorious eye' for  the sun. Though the first stanza is short but it is full of figure of speech. The beautiful description of the day, beginning of the day and rising is very aptly used.
