The poem written in 1595, follows the Spenserian sonnet format. Which consist of three quatrain and ending rhyming couplet. Amoretti sonnet 75 is about ability of love to transcend all around.
A man wrote his beloved name in the sand but it was washed away by the tide. He writes a name again but same thing happens. He does that expecting different results because he wants his love to be remembered forever. One thing that click here is the poet makes the wave masculine typically nature is associated f amenity but as wave here is a destroyed force. It is turned as masculine.
The second quote a female voice tells him that is working in wain to make something immortal which is not possible mortal things more often than not fade away from one tries to stop it. The hope of every writers or poet is to have there work immortalize which means it would be studied even after there death.
The nature has a way of showing us. That we are near mortal love sustain forever. It is believed that mortality is mear physical and emotions transcend the poet out of his extreme love wishes to change the style of nature. Which is practically impossible. This poem wants to make love immortal death is ultimate really that human being have to face but there are emotions which over power physical realities. He wishes that love as a chaste emotion is recanted and relevant every time a person comes across this poem.
