Here,I am sharing my views on after watching movie.
1. The movie is quite faithful to the original play. There are many similarities between the play and the movie. After the movie beginning to ending similarities as a original play.
2. Yes, my perception about the play, characters and situations: yes, so many things are changed. For e.g.: Ophelia’s character in the movie. We are shown director’s own imagination-scene of water; in this scene Ophelia had one key, in her mouth in that reference did not give in original play. There are minor changes in the movie. Ophelia of her madness that I have not any idea about her madness before the watching the movie. One more thing I want to say that the play is not static there are changes which occurred many a time the and story is moved a lot.
3.Yes,I feel ‘Aesthetic delight’ while watching the movie, when Claudius is dead and sometimes Hamlet’s madness and his soliloquies, when the movie started with solders on gate at night this scene. I was feeling anxious.
5. Yes, in my opinion screening of the movie is more effective and proper way to learning or relearning of the original play because you memorize more things while watching than reading.
4. Yes, I feel ‘catharsis’ when I watched the movie first Hamlet’s behavior is very rude with Ophelia and her’s death. He never understanding Ophelia’s love or rather we can say that he underestimates Ophelia and he cannot deserve Ophelia’s love. I also say that Hamlet is a pity and dreadful.
6. I liked one scene in the movie. I will cherish scene lifetime. When king Hamlet’s ghost appears in the movie and told to his son Hamlet story of his murder.
7. According to me if I am director I want to change the ghost scene and Ophelia’s madness. I haven’t shown Ophelia’s madness or rather I want to give more space of her character. And in ghost scene I want to add more horrified and terrible elements.
8. Symbolism:”Revenge never sleep”, “Revenge is holy duty Shakespeare is not shown us Christianity and justice but the director shown us Christianity, church. Justice and Christ. It symbolism that religion, God this are man weakness of human beings. There other symbolize that the ghost; the ghost declares that he is his father’s spirit, gives him the extra ordinary of murder and adultery and asks him to take revenge.
Flashback system: My opinion about for e.g. mirror scene, standing statue and falling statue are quite similar in play and movie.
9. Yes I studying the play through movie psychology approach: Hamlet’s madness, soliloquy
10. In this movie Hamlet totally mad that’s why I think psychology approach is suitable.
By watching this movie, we can understand drama very well. But here he made some changes. But as far as the play is concerned movie is faithful to the play and very well use of soliloquies.
